American Glass Sugar Shaker circa 1894 -1898, made by Consolidated Lamp and Glass Co., Coraopolis, PA. Sugar shakers are often referred to as sugar sifters, dusters or the English term of muffineer. This one is pictured in Heacock, Syrups, Sugar Shakers, & Cruets, page 15, figure 14. Also shown on EAPG organization site. It is the Argus Swirl pattern, made between 1894 – 1898. It is 3 1/4" tall, base 2 1/8", diameter is approximately 4". Sugar shaker is Opaque white glass, mold blown, with Argus Swirl design, a transfer pattern applied at the neck, design is random size circles with flowers and tear drop of circles at each swirl in the glass. Top is old and original. No dings but some faint wear to metal finish. See photos. This shaker is one of the most difficult to locate.
