Waterbury mantle clock made in Waterbury Conn. Movement is marked Sept 13, 1898. Please read the full description and view all of the photos they are included as part of the description. Case is 11” tall, 7 ½”, wide, 4 ¼” deep with a 4 ½” diameter porcelain dial. Case is cast metal and weight 7 pounds before packing. The clock is week duration with a rack and snail striking mechanism. It chimes the correct number of hours on the hour and once at the half hour. A nice soft sound. The movement has a very desirable visible escapement. The Waterbury catalog refers to this as the “Marvel” movement. The clock is 100% original and comes with a double end key and original pendulum. All brass was polished and sealed. The fabric on the back door was replaced. We placed some felt on the bottom legs to prevent the heavy clock from scratching furniture. The porcelain dial has some cracks at 10 and 2 and retains the original Waterbury brass hands. There is a partial factory label on the bottom. There are a few scratches and runs to the gold finish, which I believe to be original. The movement was serviced, it runs, and chimes correctly. Although I have not restored this clock, it looks good, sounds good and runs well. This is what you should expect from a restored antique clock.
All clocks are professionally restored, authenticated and keep accurate time. NO excuses here. We provided operating instructions with our clocks and a KEY or new battery when required.
