Cobalt poison bottle from turn of the century drugstore or pharmacy, molded ribbed glass, circa 1890 - 1900, worn but still readable on the front is Not to Be Taken, and 2 OZ on the bottom. The vertical ribs are characteristic of antique poison bottles, so they could be identified by touch in the dark. The sharp colors of cobalt blue was used to easily identify them and to protect the contents from changing composition if exposed to day light. BOttle is clean and damage free, it is NOT from a landfill. 4 1/8" tall, two sides have ribbing, top is flanged. No Cracks or Chips. See photos. We have an excellent selection of cobalt blue and green poison bottles to choose from. These glass bottles were not from a land fill, they are a collection of pharmacy items from a drugstore that was boarded up in the 1940's. See last photo for other Poison Bottles, many of which have been recently sold.
