Apple parer or peeler, circa 1885 kitchen tool, cast iron with wood handle, the Little Star model made by C. E. Hudson Co. of Leominster Massachusetts. Marked "Patented June 9 85", (1885) Victorian design, S shaped handle, table mount, 7 3/4" by 7 1/2", handle and drive with fork is 10" in length, parer is in working order, NO damage or repairs. This is a direct drive parer, with threading attached to the iron shaft. A three prong (tine)fork impales the apple holding into position for peeling. The is one of the first peelers that had a blade that faced the fruit for better peeling. By turning the handle it operates the drive. See photos. One of several we are selling.
