Inlaid walnut case, 12” long, 2 ½” deep, 5 ¼” tall, the mint original porcelain dial is 3 ½” in diameter. The dial is marked France below the 6 and also marked Spaulding & Co. Chicago. Spaulding was a large Jewelry firm that sold only high end merchandise; they were on the same level as Tiffany New York. 100% original, case has been cleaned and waxed retaining a strong original finish. The French Polish finish was only employed on high end Clocks and Furniture. Duverdrey and Bloquel mechanical movement, with a 7 Ruby jewel platform escarpment, week duration time piece without chime, circa 1902- 1920. Architectural case has boxwood stringing inlay, 3 ¾” polished brass bezel, beveled glass crystal, scratch free, Arabic numbers, minute ring and thin elongated spade hands. Hinged brass back dust cover has been polished and sealed. See photos, they are included and an important part of the description. There is small ding on top of case on the left back side, not visible when looking “front on”. This is a spectacular original French clock which is completely restored to original condition. The clock comes with a double end key to wind and set the hands. The clock also is a good time keeper. The cost of the restoration far exceeds the sale price.
