Antique tambour clock or mantle clock, please read the full description and view all photos, as they are part of the description. 6 ¾” by 2” deep, 4” tall, this petite case is perfect for desk or night stand, efficient it runs on a Watch battery, which is included and keeps accurate time. The case is made from a solid piece of Brazilian Mahogany, the original finish has been cleaned and waxed, another example of a beautiful original French polish finish. There is NO crack on the front of the case; this appears that the front veneer was pieced together. Look closely at the photos you will notice that the inlay is not cracked .The brass bezel and four ogee feet have been polished. Front of the case is offset with three strings of boxwood, two ebony pyramids, scrolling and stylized tear drop accents. NO DAMAGE to the case or any inlay. The 2” diameter convex glass crystal is scratch free. The original metal dial is 1 ¾” in diameter with bold Arabic numerals, easy to read from a distance, the dial is marked with the 1900-1906 trademark of Gustav Becker, however the original movement was beyond repair, another example of an unskilled Bodger destroying what was a perfectly good restorable clock works. The rear metal dust cover is 2 1/2” in diameter; it is attached with two wood screws for easy access to the movement for time setting and to change the battery. This is a very very nice Antique Clock in spectacular condition. See photos Inv # 3854
