Table or stand New England made country tiger maple and cherry woods, single drawer stand, circa 1845. The original solid tiger maple top has what is referred to as modified cookie corner sometimes called half cookie corner. The drawer and sides are solid tiger, the turned Sheraton legs are cherry. See photos. The stand is 29" tall. The top measures 19 5/8" by 18 3/4", 3/4" thick wood. It is a two board top, front board is 16 5/8" and back board is 3". The top is not perfect it has some stains and water marks. The could be sanded but it is always better to be original and remain so after 155+ years of use. The stand is strong and sturdy. The solid tiger drawer face is original with old glass pull(knob) that appears to be original. The cherry turned legs taper down to an additional turning. This stand is classic country Sheraton, American made. There are a few shrinkage cracks in the top and side.
