Senoussi Reemtsma Cigarette advertising tin, 4 ½” by 2 5/8”, ¾” deep, long lid hinge, interior of lid is in very fine condition, tin box show a colorful and decorative illustrations of a Bedouin tribe and contain various Egyptian symbols. The empty 25 “Cigaretten” tin has wear to the left side of the lid on the background but the yellow portion has excellent graphics with very minimal surface wear, otherwise silver border and backside of the tin are in very good condition for 100 year old tin. See photos they are included as part of the description. Senoussi was created in 1921 and was launched in 1926 by Reemtsma, which manufactured and commercialized the brand. This group of tins have not been cleaned or waxed.
Senoussi is a German brand of cigarettes that was owned and manufactured by Reemtsma, a division of Imperial Tobacco. Possibly, the name alludes to the Libyan religious brotherhood of the Senussi, which fought against the Italians who occupied Libya during World War I.
To your advantage this is part of collector’s collection we are listing, on sale at less than 30% of current market value. Items were purchased by the collector in the 1960’s. New to the market, this collection has been in storage for years.
