Red Seal Brand Peanut Butter advertising tin or pail, with functional bale handle, 3 ¼” tall, lift off lid is 3 5/8” diameter, container tapers to 3 ¼” at the base. Lid has wear, see photos. Ti is one pound size, underside of bottom is embossed CANCO (they first starting making tins in 19290), front and back side of the tin is marked Am. Can Co. 54a. The Red Seal Brands was a product retailed specifically for the Newton Tea and Spice Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio. In business from 1919. Peanut Butter tin is circa late 1920’s—early 1930’s.
