Fishing rod, hollow metal, made by the Horton Mfg. Co. Bristol, Conn. Circa 1900-1930. Size: 7 feet 8 inches alloy reel seat is marked with the model “Bristol” . The down locking seat holds the Kresge, Special Reel. The double handled reel is 2 ½” diameter, with 1” spool. Cork handle is very good with minor wear. Most of the original brown paint on the hollow steel is intact, has red agate tip guide. This is a very smooth sliding rod, the Fly Fishing reel spins smooth and free. There is no provision for a click or drag, it never had one. One reel foot is ¼” short so that it would fit the rod. Rod and reel combo is a great wall hanger, a very affordable display. See photos.
