Lenzkirch Wall Clock with visible escapement, Please read the full description, the clock was made in Lenzkirch, Badenia Black Forest of Germany, 100% original and restored. Matching numbers #31705. Made between 1855-1860. Their clocks made between 1851 – 1870 did not bear the Lenzkirch factory mark or logo, “Look it UP’. Case is 30” long, 11 1/4” wide, 5 3/4” deep with a 5” diameter, two piece porcelain dial, measured minute track to minute track. The thick solid plate movement is a week duration with hour and half hour chime utilizing the early count wheel. The rack and snail strike came much later. The Ruby jewel entrance and exit pallets are perfect. The clock runs accurately and strikes the correct number of hours and once at the half hour with a deep resonating sound. Original cast brass Lenzkirch mounting bracket with no extra holes in the backboard. Original gridiron pendulum, original hands, original carved removable crest. The porcelain dial is near mint with all brass grommets present, a few minor hairlines between 12 and 1. Old glass imperfections held in with wood strips. All brass was polished and sealed. This rare example is part of my personal collection and was just unpacked from a 25 year sleep. I restored the clock 35 years ago before we left California and moved to Vermont. The movement was just serviced and case was cleaned and waxed. It looks and runs as it did years ago. See last photo for a few other trinkets I just unpacked. The bottom half finial was misplaced during the move. Clock comes with a very good old brass key. Movement is original to the case, the case was refinished with about 15 light coats of Lamp Black and was rubbed out between coats. The original ebony finish could not be saved. This is not a rattle can finish. On an International Web Site I discovered a Similar Size and age and configuration Lenzkirch Open Escapement Wall Clock being offered for 6K. If you wish to pay more for an un-restored Lenzkirch wall clock and pay the shipping from Europe I suggest you Purchase that clock For shipping the heavy movement will be removed from the case and separately packed within the large box. See photos. I have over 80 Restored Antique Clocks to choose from, ALL ON SALE
