Advertising Coffee Tin for Astor House Coffee by the Abbott Grocery Co., Keene, New Hampshire and Athol, Massachusetts. The company was originally formed in 1890 as manufacturers and distributors. Excellent graphics of the Astor House Building at the turn of the century, with horse drawn carriages and street cars in the front. Circa 1910-1920 coffee container is 6” tall 4” diameter, now empty it would have contained one pound of coffee. Tin has been cleaned and waxed. Interior is clean. NO dents, some minor wear. Has original twist off lid. Difficult to find in this fine condition, the paint on these tins did not hold up well over the years. This is a nice example of New England regional coffee tin. The purpose of collecting regional advertising tins is their limited numbers in production compared to National brands.
