NO damage to the hand woven weave, leather or stitching. Like all of our creel they do not have a fishy smell. The lid retains the original 10” leather embossed ruler. Size is a bit larger that most, this one is 15” by 5” by 10”. This is the style creel that was used in the movie “The River Runs Through It”. The previous owner stated this was purchased at Orvis in Manchester Vt. by his grandfather, circa 1910-20. Original unrestored creels like this one are very scare. See last photo of many other fishing items we have available for sale. Need ideas for decorating? Select from our group photo. We have a large selection of Antique Fishing creels, Fly fishing Reels, Fly Rods, Bamboo and Fiberglass, Stream side scales, Leather Fly Wallets, Assortments of fly fishing flies, Streamers, Framed Flies and Framed and Unframed Fish Prints listed that are all on sale. We do not sell damaged creels or ones with the bottoms rotted out. It was a common practice to place wet moss inside of the creel, this kept the trout fresh. For this reason the vast majority of creels have severe damage and crumble when handled. This is not the case with creels that we sell.
