Robert Emmet advertising cigar tin, pocket size, 4 3/4” by 3 3/4” by 1 1/4” deep. Lithograph tin features portrait of Robert Emmet on the front and back. Robert Emmet (4 March 1778 – 20 September 1803) was an Irish nationalist and Republican, orator and rebel leader. After leading an abortive rebellion against British rule in 1803 he was captured then tried and executed for high treason against the British king. Tin would have originally contained 10 10cents Brevas cigars, blended by Chas. J. Spietz, Spietz Cigar Co. of Detroit (Mt. Clements) Michigan, at Factory No. 10 1st District of Michigan, circa 1920. In this condition and design a very difficult tin to acquire in very good condition. NO rust, minor wear with some nicks and small scratches. Tin has been cleaned and waxed.
