Advertising Cigar Box, pocket size for El Gran Mundo Cigars, Please read the full description, circa 1930, push/slide box is 5 1/4” by 3 5/8” by 3/4”, near mint condition. Cigars were made at Factory No. 492, 1st District of Pennsylvania. The box originally held 5 Mild Invincible cigars. Very good orange and blue tax stamp, no date. See photos. Box will be shrink wrapped for protection. This is part of a large cigar advertising collection of tins and boxes. See last photo showing some but not all.
These small pocket size advertising cigar boxes did not have a strong survival rate and were considered disposable. Unlike the tin pocket ones which had a secondary use for storing household and garage items. It is rare to find any of the cardboard pocket cigar boxes in this good condition.
