Please read the full description, 5” by 3 3/8” by 1/2”, made by the General Cigar Co. at Factory No. 105, 5th District of New Jersey. Originally held 5 mild cigars. Box has good Series 1926 Tax Stamp. The unused label is marked 1929. See photos.
General Cigar Company was and is one of the largest manufacturers of cigars in the world. Box will be shrink wrapped for protection. This is part of a large cigar advertising collection of tins and boxes. See last photo showing some but not all.
These small pocket size advertising cigar boxes did not have a strong survival rate and were considered disposable. Unlike the tin pockets one which had a secondary use for storing household and garage items. It is rare to find any of the cardboard pocket cigar boxes in this good condition.
