Carofax is the Trademark Brand for Carron Solidified Oil, a liniment containing limewater and linseed oil used in medicine primarily for burns, scalds, even sunburn. Originating in 1880-1885, named after Carron, Scotland it was used for the treatment of ironworkers. Box is 4" long, 3/4" square, with approximate 3/4 oz collapsible tube. Metal twist off cap has company name and logo embossed on the top. A product of Burroughs Wellcome & Co. (USA) Inc. New York.
