Flavoring extract bottle, C. L. Cotton 1890’s bottle, clear glass, mold blown, rectangular 5 1/4" tall, embossed lettering on sides, chip on the flange rim. See photos. C.L. Cotton was a perfume and extract manufacturing company found by Cyrus L. Cotton a former druggist of Hamilton NY in 1878.
Mr. Cotton went to Earlville when he was about 20 years of age, and engaged in the drug business. After disposing of his drug store he traveled for an Albany drug house, and while engaged in that capacity he conceived the Idea of starting an extract, business of his own. Initial operations began in his Victorian residence in Earlville NY. and expanded to a large plant in Earlville.
