Solid oak Ansonia wall clock. Please read the full description and view all photos as they are part of the description. The movement was made and marked Ansonia Clock Co., Brooklyn, New York. Circa 1900. The clock is a week duration and chimes the correct number of hours. The movement was completely rebuilt to new condition. All of the joints of the case are tight. The case was cleaned and waxed. The original finish is spectacular. The hour chime has a beautiful deep resonating sound. Original brass bezel with the old glass, a few small chips in the glass on the outer edges. All brass was polished and sealed. Brass wall hanger and original brass case stabilizer located at the bottom rarely seen once the clock is on the wall and level. This prevents the clock from moving when the clock is wound every week. Another unusual feature is the original key hanger on the backside. The pendulum access door on the bottom opens, closes and locks. The dial retains the original zinc dial pan. No additional dial screw holes. The original dial was in very poor condition and was replaced. This is a beautiful clock that measures 16” diameter, 5” deep, with a 12” diameter restored dial. This clock looks good, sounds good and keeps good time and comes with an old key and pendulum. This gallery clock would look outstanding in any home.
