This little fella is bound to get lots of attention! I certainly receive compliments when I wear it. I pair this up with my Victorian silver book chains! A wonderful antique cigarette cutter that dates from the late 1800's early 1900's. Made of sterling silver with a gold gilt. Interior is hallmarked Sterling as well as the number 58. There is also a makers mark that looks like the capital letter W with a pitchfork running through it. Its cutter is made of steel with a gold gilt. With the bail it measures 1 6/8 inches tall. The body of this piece measures 1 1/2 inches by a bit over 1/2 an inch. A very appealing shape to wear as a pendant. Now lets talk about the awesome monkey! I love all the detailed work and his friendly expression. Surrounded by palm fronds, he sits peacefully with a fruit in one hand. The high relief work adds a three dimensional quality. It was an instant yes when I spotted him in an antique store years ago. I'm sure you'll be delighted having this monkey on your back. ;) The condition is very good for its age and use. Tiny light indentations to one upper side. Also there is wear to gold gilt. So the piece has a light washed gold look. The silver is seen through it. A most welcomed addition to your antique jewelry collection! Please make sure to ask all questions prior to purchase. Thanks!
