1930's 18" Madame Hendren "Peaches" Composition Dolly
Up for adoption, we have a lovely composition "Peaches" doll that was made by Madame Hendren in the early 1930's. She is also the same mold that was used for the Horsman Nan doll. She is an unmarked doll - but is definitely made by Madame Hendren / EI Horsman. She is a 5 part strung dolly that is tightly strung as she can sit, stand and hold her poses. She overall is in lovely, excellent vintage condition with very mild conditions to her composition. I have taken close up images of her head and will note her many pluses and very little minuses. She has a perfect molded head in a bob style with hair detailing around her face. There is some paint loss on the back of her head - please see the close-up image. She even has little curls on the back of her molded head at the neckline. Too cute! She has a lot of detail on her molded head - just great detailing that you don't often see on molded hair. She has high-high coloring on her cheeks and knees. She has a pouty closed mouth and all of her painted eyelashes, eyebrows and red dots inside her nose. She is missing about half of her hair eyelashes but they are still present. Her sleep eyes are the tin-spiral blue eyes that were widely used in the 1920's and early 1930's and they move freely. She will come dressed in a lovely age appropriate factory made pink cotton dress with her original unders. Since she has purchased without shoes, I added her vintage patent leather shoes and new white socks. Everything is clean-clean.
Her flaws that I noticed were - typical paint rubs at her joints and at her fingertips. She has a slight crack on her little chin and very almost unnoticeable little eye cracks around her right eye - again very hard to see. She is becoming increasingly harder to find in this kind of condition. I have had her in my collection and have enjoyed her for a while. I am including her Teddy Bear on her journey home. Please examine her images and ask any questions that you might have about this lovely little dolly. Thank you for looking!
