This Van Briggle vase/bowl is in the acorn & leaves pattern. It has the white underlay with a soft blue overlay. The blue is a bit darker on the acorn area. It measures about 3 1/2 inches tall and is 6 1/4 wide and is in excellent condition. It is marked on the bottom Van Briggle Colo Spgs CO and has the finishers initials AO. A truly nice piece of Van Briggle. Artus Van Briggle relocated to Colorado Springs in 1899. The clay used at his factory is Colorado clay. This talented man produced some of the most beautiful pottery in the US. He worked at one time for Rookwood and studied art in Paris. When he became ill with TB, he was told the Colorado climate might be helpful for his condition. He brought with him his extensive knowledge and talent and created the beautiful pottery known as Van Briggle.
