This 14 inch, strung, hard plastic doll named Sweet Sue is from American Character Dolls. Doll dates from the middle 1950s. She is marked A.C. on the back of her neck and is in good condition. There are very light rub marks on joints and one very tiny scratch on left lower face. Sweet Sue is wearing an original A.C. blue waffle weave pique dress with matching bloomers. The elastic has stretched on bloomers but did not fall down. Her dress is featured on page 90 of Judith Izen's book, American Character Dolls. Shoes and socks were replaced by previous owner. Doll has sleep eyes with full upper lashes, blushed cheeks, red lips, and glued on wig. She could use a redo for her hair if purchaser would so desire. Doll holds a pose nicely. Really a very nice doll whose personality reflects her name, Sweet Sue.
