This is an antique low brow china head doll. She has molded, hand painted dark brown hair with a center part and bangs. She also has hand painted molded boots with heels. Her arms are china to the forearm below the elbow, the legs are china to just below the knee. There is damage to the right hand, the tips of the fourth and fifth finger are broken off. Strangely, the left hand also appears to be a right hand, the thumb is on the wrong side. The body is cloth, firm and in good condition. There is missing paint to the left cheek and part of the hair. The eyes are blue. The head is 3 1/4" tall from the bottom of the shoulder plate.
There is a mark on the back of the shoulder shaped like a bell with a K inside. That is the mark for CF Kling. The mark was in use around 1880, and the molded heel boots also date to the 1880s.
The clothing is a dark green calico print with rows of rick rack trim at the waist, wrists, and above the hem.
