This is a pair of pink opaque and clambroth glass hobnail newels with brass ferules. They are mounted on later circular wood turned weighted bases. The bases are similar but not identical in size, one is 3 1/4" wide and the other is 3 5/8" wide. The wider one has a short crack in the wood at the base. These were Victorian architectural elements for use on a staircase. They are colorful historical decorative objects, especially interesting in their duality and mounted state. They date to the late 1800s-early 1900s. Total height 9" for each. The glass is 3 1/4" wide. Other than the crack in the wood base on one, there is no damage. SC.
