This is a vintage silverplate Sheffield USA silent butler, crumber, or crumb catcher. It is roughly square shaped with a domed lid and cut off corners to form a slight octagon. The handles is wood. It is marked Sheffield Silver Made in USA on the base. The crumber is 5 1/4" wide, 9 3/8" long, and 3" high to the top of the thumb rest. It is in excellent condition, just needs to be polished.
