Here is a vintage Buzkashi whip or riding crop from central Asia. I have two of them listed, this is the fancier one. It is leather/rawhide and wood, with hammered low grade silver embellishments on the handle. The handle is 12.5" tall or long. According to online dictionaries, Buzkashi is an ancient sport similar to polo, where teams of horse back riders compete to deliver a headless animal carcass to a scoring area. It is the national sport of Afghanistan. I have seen Buzkashi spelled several ways, this is the spelling used by Wikipedia and other dictionaries. It literally translates from Persian as "Goat pulling." The whip is generally carried in the riders' teeth. This one is in very good condition, the silver is lightly tarnished and the leather has a little wear.
