This is a black amethyst glass ashtray in a trapezium shape (a trapezoid with two corners lopped off). It is very Art Deco in style. Most black amethyst glass dates to the Depression Era. The ashtray is 4 5/8" x 3 1/4" x 1 1/4." It has three cigarette rests and one matchbook slot. It is in very good to excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks, just a couple of tiny nicks along the mold lines at the corners.
