This is a vintage Vernon Kilns Old Salem red transferware souvenir plate, made in the 1940s and sold in the Salem Book Store in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It features local historic sites, primarily Moravian churches and other Moravian sites, but also the Old Tavern where Washington was entertained in 1791, and the Administration building at Salem College. The plate is 10 1/4" wide. It has a rope embossed rim. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. I do not see any utensil marks.
