This is an English earthenware Rockingham glaze furniture support, sculpted to look like a woman's head. These pieces are also called window sash supports, but museums and books refer to them as furniture supports. It was produced in the Swinton Factory in England circa 1820-1840. It is 4 7/8" tall and the base is 3 1/4" wide. It is in excellent condition. SC.
