This is a pottery plate with a hand painted scene of a church near a lake or river. The church has a red roof. There is a bridge near the church and a second church in the background. There are two men standing in the front, and trees off to the sides. The plate is 8 5/8" wide. There is a backstamp, but it is largely illegible. I can clearly read the word Opaque. There is a word underneath that may say Chineville or Chinevelle or Vineville or some other variation. The mark is green with a crown over a shield and a laurel wreath below. The plate is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. MBR.
