This is a 1930s celluloid dresser jar or powder box marked Laurelton Amerith on the base. It is light yellow pearlized celluloid plastic, meant to imitate mother of pearl. The lid has a chippendale style shape, the base is round and tapered from bottom to top. There are two incised rings or bands around the neck of the jar. It is 4 3/4" wide and 2 1/4" tall, in excellent condition. MBR.
