This is a cobalt blue transferware souvenir plate for Williamsburg, Virginia. It is 9 1/4" wide, in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, utensil marks, or crazing. The plate features the Capitol, Wren Building, Bruton Parish Churchs, Raleigh Tavern, Public Gaol, Powder Magazine, and the Governor's Palace, all built between 1695-1715. The back of the plate is marked "Use for Ornament" in black underglaze, and there is a paper label that reads "Made in Japan."
