This is a single Grindley Hotel Ware dinner plate made for the Ambassador Hotels in Chicago. The Hotels were home to the Sarah Siddons Walk, The Pump Room, The Buttery, and the Parade, all of which are commemorated in ovals along the rim of the plate. The back of the plate is marked "Duraling Grindley Hotelware Co Made in England 3-61." A slightly modified version of this pattern was made by Syracuse in the 1970s. I believe this plate dates to the 1960s. It is 10 1/4" wide. There are utensil marks on the plate, but the finish is still glossy. There are no chips or cracks.
