This is a vintage M H Rhodes parking meter. It was installed in South Bend, IN in the 1940s and removed in the 1970s. It only accepts dimes. I do not have the keys to open the bank portion, which still has money inside. The top part of the assembly is not locked in place and slides out, as you can see in the pictures. The meter is 9" x 4 1/2" x 3." The silver paint is chipped in places and looks like there are several layers of paint. The front steel panel was originally printed with instructions, and that is completely faded away at this point. The handle in the top portion turns smoothly. MBR.
