This is a vintage cloth boudoir doll, an elegant older lady with gray hair. She is wearing a green skirt and a yellow jacket with a cream lace blouse. Her face was made from a molded silk stocking and hand painted with detailed eyes, eyebrows, mouth, and nose. She has an extraordinary hat complete with feathers and a ribbon bow on top. The body is cloth, as are the arms and legs. She was displayed in sunlight, with the result that the front of the skirt is several shades lighter than the back. Please see the pictures for the color change. She is not signed or marked anywhere. The doll is 18" long from the top of the hat to the soles of the feet. According to the owner, the doll dates at least the 1940s, possibly earlier, as she remember it in her house growing up. MBR.
