This clear pressed glass powder box has a crenelated or sawtooth interlocking closure between the two pieces. It is 5" wide, in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The pattern is a dead ringer for the EAPC or Early American Prescut pattern by Anchor Hocking. It is frequently mistaken for an EAPC piece, but if you look closely, the word ITALY is embossed on each piece around the central star. This is the first time I have seen on in the original box, which says "Co. Vetro S.P.A. Industria Vetraria Altare Italy." This box was made in two sizes, a 4" and a 5." This is the smaller, 4" size.
