This is an oval covered vegetable dish in white ironstone with gold trim on the rims and handles. It is not chipped or cracked, but there is substantial crazing. The mark on the base reads "Mount Clemens Montel MCPCO." This mark is from the 1930s-40s. Mount Clemens was in business in Michigan from 1914-1987. There are also pieces that say Mount Clemens Made in Japan that appear to be the same company, but I have not been able to learn anything about when pieces were produced in Japan. It is possible that is a separate company. This covered vegetable is 11 3/4" handle to handle, 6 3/4" across, and 4 1/2" high with the lid and handle.
