Here is a pair of vintage 1970s felted hard wool Valenki boots. They were military uniform issue in the Soviet Union, and according to Wikipedia, are still standard issue in the Russian Army today. This pair is in fair to good condition, there is some damage to the wool. They are 19" tall and the sole is 12" long toe to heel on the outside. They are frequently worn as a liner inside rubber galoshes to keep the soles from wearing out too quickly. The boots are stiff and hard, which is how they are supposed to be.
