This pair of book ends are white porcelain with gold hand painted accents. Each is a child dressed in 1700s style clothes leaning against an upright book, one boy and one girl. The boy book seems a little taller, but both measure 4 1/8" high. They are in very good to excellent condition. The only wear is some loss to the gold paint. They are not marked or signed. My guess is that they were made in Japan in the 1940s-50s.
