This is a vintage pottery state souvenir plate for the state of Illinois. It is green transferware, made by Kettlesprings Kilns. The plate is 10" wide. The center is a detailed map of Illinois, much more detailed than is common on these plates. The map shows the surrounding states, major roades, rivers, and cities. Around the rim are the Illinois state seal, and images of the City of Chicago, a cardinal (state bird), Metamora Court House, Fort Massac State Park, Springfield, the state Capitol, Nauvoo State Park, Grant's home in Galena, oak trees (the state tree), and daffodils (not the state flower, according to my research). The plate is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
