This is a square salad plate with a gadroon border and gold trim, made by Harker, and decorated as a souvenir for the state of California. It is not marked, but I have identified it as Harker based on the shape, border, and decoration. The plate is 8" wide. The California decoration in the center includes a map in yellow surrounded by scenes of the Redwood trees, mountains, Golden Gate Bridge, beaches, the flag of the California Republic, Yosemite Falls, Mt Whitney, Lake Tahoe. The map includes many of these same attractions, as well as the Bakersfield clock tower, Pasadena Rose Bowl, Big Bear Lake, Joshua Tree National Monument, and others. It does not include Disneyland, so it is from before Disneyland opened in 1955. The plate is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
