This plate has a center decoration in red, gold, and blue with religious vestments, a crown, swords, and crosses. Underneat in gold are the years 1219 and 1969. The plate has a gadroon swirled rim with a wide band of gold trim. The plate is 10 1/4" wide. The back is printed in blue with "750th Anniversary Completed this year is seven and one half centuries of independence for the Serbian Orthodox Church, secured in 1219, by Saint Sava in Nicaea from Emperor Theodore I (Lascaris) and Patriarch Manuel (Sarenten) of Constantinople. On this occasion Saint Sava was elected and consecrated as the first archbishop of the independent Serbian Church, with its see in Zica Monastery." The plate is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
