This plate is brown transferware, decorated as a souvenir of the life of Mark Twain in Hannibal, Missouri. It is 10 3/8" wide. The plate has a floral rim and images in the center of the plate. The images include a portrait of Mark Twain, The Mark Twain Memorial Bridge, the Becky Thatcher House, The Mark Twain boyhood home, Mark Twain cave, and the Tom and Huck Statue. The back is marked with a description of Twain's life and inspirations for his books, and says "Plate designed by Vernon Kilns, U.S.A." It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
