This Vernon Kilns souvenir plate is red transferware. It says Historical Seattle in the center, with Mt. Rainier and the Seattle Skyline above and below. Around the inner rim are important dates in Seattle History ranging from 1851 Landing at Alki to the Alaska-Yukon Pacific Exposition in 1909. The plate is 10 3/4" wide with a scalloped rim. The back reads "Seattle the City of Seven Hills Named for the famous Indian, Chief Seattle, this world-famous seaport was founded in 1851 and has become the largest city in the Pacific Northwest.
