This is a cobalt blue whiskey or liquor jug decanter. It is porcelain glazed deep blue with gold trim and lighter blue painted embossed relief scenes of castles and cathedrals. The stopper is shaped like a crown. The jug is 7 1/2" tall. It holds 1 qt. The base is wooden with metal pieces that wind the music box. There is a blue and white sticker that says Japan. The music box in the base plays "How Dry I Am." The jug is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The cork is a little loose on the stopper, though. Consensus seems to be that this jug dates to the 1960s.
