The gorgeous cranberry red spinel in this ring is nature made and quite sizable at approximately 2.24 carats. Spinel is a wonderful all-natural gemstone that comes in several different hues, including blue. Red spinels have often been confused with rubies over the years, although they are gemologically distinct stones. In fact, one of the most famous "rubies" in the world-the Black Prince's Ruby, which is currently set into the Imperial State Crown of the United Kingdom-is actually a red spinel (it's about the size of a chicken egg, and one of the oldest crown jewels of the UK).
There are approximately .63 carats of diamonds accenting the spinel. The mount is 18 karat gold (stamped as such), and the ring weighs approximately 12 grams in total. Currently a size 9 1/2, the ring can easily be resized by a jeweler.
The stone in this ring is a true collector's item and should be passed down through the generations of someone's family. Make us an offer; the worst we can say is "no thank you." :) Thanks for stopping by! ~ Amia
