Beautiful ivy vines climb the sides of this ornate ring, accented with scrolling motifs. The workmanship is exquisite, with structural filigree work in the undercarriage that allows light to come through this stunning Ceylon sapphire. The ring itself is of white 18 karat gold, die-stamped for the crispness of detail and sturdiness of filigree not found in other manufacturing styles. This ring dates to the 1920s and is in excellent condition!
The focal point of the ring, however, is the beautiful blue sapphire! The stone is from Sri Lanka, also called Old Ceylon. Sri Lanka is the source of the finest sapphire in the world, and this stone is no exception. There is plenty of fire in the center, and the cutting is expertly done. As with most of our precious gems, we purchased this stone on location during one of our frequent buying trips.
