These beautiful silk satin wedding boots were a find from my recent buying trip in Holland. They date to the late Victorian period so around 1890's. They are made from a silk satin that is a light caramel colour and they each have a ruffled silk rosette to the front of them. The boots are laced, but I think these laces are a later addition as the originals would have been silk. The heels are covered in a lighter silk satin. There is wear to the boots as shown in the photographs, there is a small amount of splitting to the fabric on the toes of the boots and at the back near the heels. There is also evidence of wear to the soles. The silk rosettes do have a tiny amount of shedding to them but nothing terrible. The boots measures 8 1/2 inches in length, the heels measure 1 inch and the overall height of the boots is 7 inches from the top to the bottom of the heel. They are absolutely exquisite and would make a wonderful display.
