These are the most exquisite shoes that I purchased on my recent buying trip. They date to the middle of the 19th century, approximately 1860. The shoes are ladies straight shoes made from a vibrant purple silk velvet, they are covered in metallic thread embroidery and have raised pearl stylised flower motifs to the front of each shoe. The edge of the shoes have decorative gathered silk ribbon work and each are lined with silk. The inside of the shoes also have a metallic thread work embroidered emblem. The heels are also covered in silk velvet and the soles look to have had very little wear. There is some slight wear to the pile of the velvet but nothing terrible and the silk lining of the shoes has partially come away but again nothing terrible. They are absolutely exquisite and would be wonderful displayed. They will be sent fully tracked and insured.
